The Graduate Program in Music at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro launched on July 5, the 32nd volume, No. 2 issue of Revista Brasileira de Música. The editors-in-chief conceived the publication as a tribute to the professor of the Antonio José Augusto program, who passed away last February 2.

Antonio Augusto did not have, due to the severe illness. He struggled in his last years and lost the opportunity to act as the chief editor of a dossier on Brazilian music for this edition of the magazine, a task for which months ago he had accepted it with enormous enthusiasm. For this reason, the editors included Antonio Augusto in this edition as a guest editor in memoriam.

The editors-in-chief of the Revista Brasileira de Música would like to thank those who collaborated directly or indirectly for the making of this volume, and especially the researchers Humberto Amorim, Thadeu de Moraes Almeida, and Luíza Alvim.
